About Jennifer

Jennifer Rewick spent sixteen years living in London, England, raising her family and soaking up hair-raising stories about love, loss, and infidelity. She is a former current affairs producer for NPR affiliate KALW in San Francisco and media reporter for The Wall Street Journal in New York. Having been an English major at the University of California, Berkeley, and a graduate student in journalism at Stanford University, she is now writing upmarket fiction filled with complex characters—and in some cases delightfully shallow ones—in vibrant locales. She’s a co-founder of the writing group The Bay Area Writers Table and currently splits her time between Marin County, California, and Boston, Massachusetts. Her novel The Lights of Kirrie is a finalist for the 2026 Claymore Award in the Best Mainstream/Commercial Fiction category.

She is currently seeking representation.

The Lights of Kirrie is set between the majestic Napa Valley in the heady 2000s and the breathtaking Scottish countryside in the grip of World War II. The plots converge in 2006 when Gillian, an ambitious young vintner, casts aside romance to save a trailblazing winery from financial ruin. Devastated when she fails, Gillian grudgingly agrees to accompany her grandmother to Scotland, where she’s been invited to meet the father she never dared dream existed. There, Gillian discovers her great-grandparents’ forbidden wartime affair—and unexpectedly gets a second chance to prove herself to those she loves.
